Wettest Parade in Ohio

638162186306970000The 2023 Parade will take place on Tuesday, July 4 at 10:00 AM
The Wettest Parade in Ohio

Assembly/Line-up will begin at 8:15 a.m. on the west side of the river on Park Avenue. Judging will begin at 9:00 a.m. and winners will be announced at the Downtown Reviewing Stand. There will be trophies for floats in the following categories: “Best Theme”, “Most Creative”, “City Council’s Choice” and for kids, there is a “Franklin’s Most Patriotic Cub of 2023” Category. Children may decorate a wagon, tricycle, bicycle, wear a patriotic or lion costume and walk the parade route. An adult must accompany children under 12. No refreshments will be provided so please plan your morning accordingly.
 

Parade will step off at 10:00 a.m. and will end in Community Park. To alleviate traffic congestion cars will exit through the back gate. (Semis cannot exit the back gate; you may enter the park and wait until the parade ends, or proceed east on Route 123.) Do not exit the park onto Sixth while parade is in process. You may park vehicles there or have drivers meet you there to return you to your origin. Event personnel will be on site in orange shirts to direct you.

Be sure to come back to Community Park at 6 PM for Franklin's All American Blast where The Menus will perform live on stage with food trucks and concessions while the kids can play on the inflatables (arm bands available), enjoy face painting and balloon animals!

To participate you must complete the following entry form. Entries received after 6/30/23, will be accepted and added at the end of the parade line-up.

No refreshments will be provided so please plan your morning accordingly.

I HEREBY ASSUME ALL RISK OF INJURIES TO PROPERTY OR PERSONS OR DEATH RESULTING FROM ALL PERSONS WITHIN THIS PARADE UNIT. I AGREE TO PROTECT, INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE CITY OF FRANKLIN AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS OR LIABILITIES FOR DEATH, PERSONAL INJURIES OR PROPERTY DAMAGE ARISING WITHIN THIS PARADE UNIT.

No refreshments will be provided so please plan your morning accordingly. Please be prepared to get wet. The designated “Wet Zones” are at all intersections of the parade route. Please refrain for spraying attendees that are not gathered in the intersections. Parade will step off at 10:00 a.m. and will end in Community Park. To alleviate traffic congestion cars will exit through the back gate. (Semis cannot exit the back gate; you may enter the park and wait until the parade ends, or proceed east on Route 123.) Do not exit the park onto Sixth while parade is in process. You may park vehicles there or have drivers meet you there to return you to your origin. Event personnel will be on site in orange shirts to direct you. As always, SAFETY FIRST at all times. If throwing candy or anything from vehicles, take special caution to throw to the curb so children are not running out in the street to retrieve items. Be sure not to strike spectators. Please understand the City shall be held harmless for any and all claims as a result of your actions. A fire extinguisher is advisable in some cases. You are required to keep 2 car lengths (approx. 40 feet) from the unit in front of and behind you at all times. This is absolutely necessary to eliminate gaps in the parade! Your unit may need to stop at times to achieve this. Be Alert! Be Safe! & Have Fun! Thank you and have a VERY HAPPY and SAFE Independence Day Celebration!
